Your ideas, your way
Laminar Notes is a note-taking and brainstorming web app that lets you keep your notes exactly as organized and visible as you want them to be. Zoom in to what you're working on, or zoom out to survey all your stuff. Write things down first and figure out exactly where they go later.
Sign up to get an unlimited free trial and take notes on your own device. Those notes don't cost us anything, so they're free forever.
Subscribe for $5 a month (or $50 a year!) to backup your notes on our servers and synchronize them in real time across your devices.
You Live by Your Ideas
You have new ideas all the time, plans for your day, lines for your book, and things that are hard to categorize. People say that if it's important enough you'll remember it, but by now you know that's not true.
You need a way to put your ideas down and keep them safe, but you also need a way to find them again later. Sometimes just writing them down will help you remember, but usually you need read them eventually. They need to be there and visible when you're ready to act on them.
A note that's not there when you need it may as well not exist.
Visibility and Flexibility
Laminar Notes puts all your notes in a single space. Notes in the area you're focused on are more visible, but those in other areas are never completely invisible. You don't need to manage the positions of notes by hand like you do with paper index cards or other canvas-style apps. Just drag notes onto a spot between other notes, or inside another note, and the app takes care of the rest.
Have you ever wanted to just leave your notes spread across the wall or floor? Laminar Notes lets you get pretty close!
Here's the plan
If you want to try Laminar Notes, here's the basic idea:
- Sign up for a free trial. No credit card or anything, just your email. This will let you store notes on your own computer, and try out all the UI features.
- Try it for a while. Maybe use it for a project, or your daily TODOs. Get used to the UI (there's a bit of a learning curve), figure out your ways of organizing things.
- Subscribe! Synchronize your notes across devices, with backups on the Laminar Notes servers. Now your notes can be anywhere you are (with a computer, that is).
